Entertainment Must Haves
These are a few must-have items for any home entertainment cabinet.
Top of the list is this Monkey box set. Monkey was one of the best TV shows from my childhood. It was a cult Japanese tv series made in the late 70s. The bizarre tale was about the travels of the Tang Priest Hsüan Tsang (Tripitaka) from reaching a Buddhist monastery in India to retrieve Buddhist scriptures. The story is based on a Chinese 16th century epic and is set in 630 AD. Each episode revolves around the perils encountered by Tripitaka and his guides the hero Monkey, pig monster, Pigsy and Sandy the camp water monster. Actually, they all the characters are rather camp. The relationship between Sandy and Tripitaka always seemed very “Bert & Ernie.” For more information about Monkey, often referred to as Monkey Magic check out Monkey Magic.
Totally old-skool this Atari Lynx is bound to bring back memories for any children of the 80s. I always wanted one of these but much to my horror my evil parents had me convinced that video games caused brain mutations. Any kid with cred had one of these back in the day. It was the first handheld game console with a colour display and with the touch of a button you could flip the screen and play south-paw. It was also the Hummer of the gaming console world, those Ataris would motor through batteries in a flash. It took 6 AA batteries and by the end of a sold afternoon of gaming had sucked the juice dry. Any pocket money on batteries was well worth it. On the odd chance I'd score a go from a friend I became absolutely addicted to California Games.

In the world before Monkey, primal chaos reigned. Heaven sought order, but the phoenix can fly only when it's feathers are grown. The four worlds formed again and yet again, as endless aeons wheeled and passed. Time and the pure essences of Heaven all worked upon a certain rock, old as creation. It became magically fertile. The first egg was named "Thought". Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha said "With our thoughts, we make the world". Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch. From it came a stone monkey.
The nature of monkey was irrepressible!
